Nutritional Counseling in
Newburgh & Cornwall
We Can Put You on the Right Path
There’s no shortage of information on how to build a healthy diet. Unfortunately, much of the information you find online will contradict itself. Between fad diets and diets built on anecdotal evidence rather than actual research, many people have embarked on new eating habits that ended up hurting them rather than helping.
The truth is that there is no one diet that will work for everyone. Everybody is different, and an optimal diet will be one that has been built from the ground up to meet your unique needs. This is why the Registered Dietitians (RD) at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall offer customized nutrition counseling for general wellness, weight management, diabetes, heart disease, and many other health concerns.
Nutrition counseling is currently offered on Tuesdays at the Cornwall Campus.

The Difference between an RD and Nutritionist
When researching nutritional counseling, you will probably see mentions of both RDs and nutritionists. While these roles are similar, they are not the same. An RD is a legal credential that can only be used by someone who has been certified by the Commission of Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. There are no legal prerequisites for someone to call themselves a nutritionist, meaning anyone can claim to be one. An RD may refer to themselves as a nutritionist, but a nutritionist cannot call themselves a Registered Dietitian.
