Sports Medicine

Sports medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with physical fitness, treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise. Many commons sports injuries can be treated non-surgically through physical therapy or minimally invasive outpatient procedures. Some common sports injuries include: contusion, sprains or tears of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), ankle, elbow and shoulder sprains and knee dislocation.

Foot and Ankle

Pain of the foot and ankle can be caused by sports injuries, trauma-related fractures, bunions and Achilles tendon disorders. Pain can also be caused by arthritis and could lead to arthroscopic ankle surgery or ankle replacements.

Foot and ankle disorders can also apply to children and orthopedic specialists at MSLC can address common pediatric foot and ankle conditions, such as clubfoot or flat feet.

Hand

Orthopedic specialists at MSLC address surgical and non-surgical treatment of conditions or problems that take place in the hand or upper extremities (tip of the hand to the shoulder). Various causes of hand pain include infection, traumatic injury, carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis.

Spine

Orthopedic specialists at MSLC can treat the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions of the spine through a variety of surgical and non-surgical options to treat chronic back pain or spinal disorders.
