Program Structure

We offer core rotations in a 4+2 format. A two-week ambulatory clinic rotation follows each four-week rotation block (inpatient floors, ICU, elective, etc.). Ambulatory +2 week block rotation is further allocated into continuity and specialty clinic rotations. *

Continuity clinics provide residents with a robust opportunity to follow a panel of patients longitudinally, developing a physician-patient relationship key to the professional satisfaction associated with primary care. In contrast, specialty clinic rotations allow residents to gain experience on common sub-specialties of Internal medicine in an outpatient setting. Subspecialty clinics for PGY-1s are cardiology and fast track urgent care. Subspecialty clinics for PGY-2s are pulmonary and endocrinology. Subspecialty clinics for PGY-3s are neurology and GI.
