SLCH Hosts Diabetes Support Group Meetings in Cornwall and Newburgh
Newburgh, NY – Beginning April 19, 2018, the St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) Diabetes Management Program will host monthly support group meetings at both its Newburgh and Cornwall campuses. The program expansion features not only two locations, but also day and evening sessions.
The Newburgh support group meetings will take place the third Thursday of each month from 1-2 p.m. in the Drake Conference Center, located in the Main Lobby of the hospital’s Newburgh campus at 70 Dubois Street. For more information, or to register, call (845) 568-2925.
Dates for the remainder of 2018 are April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, August 16, September 20, October 18, November 15 and December 20.
Gatherings at the Cornwall campus, located at 19 Laurel Avenue, will be held the fourth Thursday of every month from 6-7 p.m. To register, call (845) 568-2878. Meeting space may vary, so it is recommended to call ahead to confirm.
The meeting dates in Cornwall include April 24, May 22, June 26, July 24, August 28, September 25, October 23 and November 27.
The diabetes management program offered by St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital empowers patients to understand and live with the disease. While careful monitoring and certain adjustments are necessary, many diabetics lead fun and active lifestyles. The team approach helps patients understand all the factors that go into managing the day-to-day realities of living with diabetes. The program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and is covered by most health insurance plans.
