Newburgh, NY – The St. Luke’s Cornwall Health System Foundation hosted its annual gala on Saturday, September 10 at Anthony’s Pier 9 in
New Windsor. Through the support of the hospital’s donors, attendees and friends, this year’s event raised $300,000 in net proceeds which will be donated to support hospital programs and initiatives.
This year’s honorees included Outstanding Caregiver Award recipients Drs. Anne Mullin, James V. DiLorenzo, and Syed Moin. SLCH also honored Cornerstone Family Healthcare, as its Community Commitment Award recipient.
Dr. James DiLorenzo has been a part of St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital and the surrounding community for 36 years. Dr. Syed Moin has been affiliated with St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital since 1989 and continues to serve in many nursing homes and facilities in our area. Dr. Mullin has practiced in the Cornwall community for the last 22 years and is known for establishing long-term relationships with her patients who range in ages from 18 to 100 years of age.
“Drs. Mullin, DiLorenzo and Moin are the definition of outstanding caregivers”, said Joan Cusack-McGuirk, President and CEO of SLCH. “They have each dedicated their lives to caring for the community, their neighbors and friends.”
Cornerstone Family Healthcare, led by President and CEO Linda S. Muller, has grown to nine sites serving Orange, Ulster and Broome Counties. In 2015, Cornerstone and SLCH collaborated to place a care coordinator in the emergency department to improve the access, quality and cost of healthcare for all patients.
“Cornerstone Family Healthcare is a staple of medical services in this community,” said Cusack-McGuirk. “We are proud to continue to partner with our colleagues at Cornerstone as we work to continuously enhance the care this community receives.”
The event, which was chaired Jill Cappa, SLCH Foundation Board member, attracted more than 450 guests including hospital leadership and community members. Top sponsors included the St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Medical Staff, Bonura Hospitality Group, Kaplan Family Foundations, Restorix Health, Crystal Run Health, Eagle Insurance Agency, Greater New York Hospital Association, the Littman Family, Montefiore Medical Center, Patient Matters and Unitex Textile Services.
“It was an honor to chair this year’s event,” said Cappa. “The gala was a huge success in large part because of our terrific volunteers, specifically the gala committee and the generous support of our community.”
