SLCH Named 2016 Most Wired
Newburgh, NY - For the third straight year, St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) has been included on the list of Health Care’s Most Wired® hospitals, ranking among the nation’s best in using information technology to improve patient care.
The survey, recently released by the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Health Forum, is a leading industry barometer measuring information technology use and adoption among hospitals nationwide. Conducted between Jan. 15 and March 15, 2016, the survey of 680 participants representing an estimated 2,146 hospitals—more than 34 percent of all hospitals in the U.S.—examines how organizations are leveraging IT to improve performance for value-based health care in the areas of infrastructure, business and administrative management, quality and safety, and clinical integration.
This year’s survey focused on the use of telehealth to fill gaps in care, provide 24-hour, 7-day-per-week care, and increase access to medical specialists. In redefining the way that they provide care in their communities, Most Wired hospitals are using technology to build patient engagement with the individual’s lifestyle in mind, which includes electronic access to their care team.

SLCH was one of 24 hospitals in New York State to receive a Most Wired designation.
