St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Recognized As One of the Best Hospitals in NYS by U.S. News and World Report
Newburgh, NY- St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) added another recognition to its growing list of accolades when it was recognized as one of the top hospitals in New York State, the Hudson Valley, and the Poughkeepsie-Newburgh Metro Area by U.S. News & World Report. SLCH was the only hospital in the Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown area, to be named one of the publication's 2014 Best Hospitals.
SLCH was one of only seven of fifty hospitals in the Hudson Valley to make the list.

In addition to the hospital-wide rankings, SLCH was singled out as high performing in the Diabetes & Endocrinology specialty.
The U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals list is updated each July. The rankings are based on 16 individual specialty lists, using a combination of physician surveys, patient safety indicators, and data such as death rates for patients with especially serious conditions. To earn high-performing status, hospitals must have a score in the top 25 percent of eligible facilities in at least one specialty.
This latest recognition comes on the heels of the hospital's fourth straight Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award. SLCH is the only hospital in New York State to achieve that distinction four years in a row. The hospital was also the only facility in the Hudson Valley to be named 2014 Most Wired in the 16th annual Health Care's Most Wired Survey, conducted by Hospitals & Health Networks.
