He has been a dynamic Co-Chair Person for the Patient Experience Council, and an integral member of the Stepdown 2N team.
What patients have to say about Rey:
“Rey is a very compassionate and caring nurse. His cheerful and positive manner was always evident when he entered mother’s room and he always took care of all of her needs. The friendliness with which he greeted all the family members was uplifting and inspired confidence that everything that could be done, was done.”
“He is the most caring and patient-care oriented nurse, you can see his love and passion for his profession in everything.”
“His manner, care, compassion and attentiveness both when he was my nurse and to others on my floor, was outstanding.”
“Professional, clear, informative, personable, kind, gentle, easy to understand, and a wonderful nurse.”
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Foundation was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications from an autoimmune disease. During Pat’s eight-week hospitalization, his family was awestruck by the care and compassion his nurses provided Pat and his entire family. In Pat’s memory, his family created a foundation with the goal of recognizing extraordinary nurses who make an enormous difference in countless people’s lives every day.
Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Nursing has adopted Dr. Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring as the model of our nursing practice which exemplifies our nursing division’s mission.
